Giki shortlisted at UK Green Business Awards with Employee Race to Zero

Giki UK Green Business Awards

We’re pleased to share that the Giki-led Employee Race to Zero is shortlisted in the Behaviour Change Campaign of the Year category at the UK Green Business Awards.

The awards showcase and celebrate the best of the UK’s green economy and are the largest and most prestigious green business awards in the UK.

This year’s Green Business Awards were more competitive than ever, with over 400 submissions.

Competition to drive employee engagement

In 2023, the UN-backed Race to Zero and Giki launched the first-ever “Employee Race to Zero”, a global competition for companies to bring their employees together and compete in teams for three weeks of fun sustainability competition ahead of COP28.

The inaugural event brought together 21 participating organisations in the vanguard of sustainability employee engagement, representing 600,000 employees and ten industries.

Participants took over 14,300 climate actions during the competition, saving 337,020kg of carbon, 11m litres of water, 98,178 m2 of land, and 61,057 single-use plastics, equivalent to 893 short-haul flights, or 39 times around the world in a 4×4!

The awards are fantastic recognition of truly impactful work, and everyone at Giki is excited to find out who will receive more recognition on 12th June 2024. Good luck to all those shortlisted.
